GSMK launches new sensors for mobile network security system at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

Second-generation sensor platform allows passive and active detection of IMSI catchers and other rogue base stations

Mwc2016

Barcelona, February 2016 – At Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, GSMK launches the second-generation sensor platform for its field-proven GSMK Overwatch® network security system that protects mobile network operators against eavesdropping and fraud. The sensors’ rugged design that is capable of both passive and active monitoring allows the detection of rogue base stations, including fake cell towers known as “IMSI catchers”, over even wider areas than ever before, and even in the most demanding environmental conditions. This exceptional performance is achieved at very low cost that for the first time makes the generation of a truly nationwide cellular situation report economically and technically feasible. The GSMK Overwatch system thus offers a protective shield that safeguards network operators from attacks over the air interface.

GSMK is showcasing the system along with the new sensor platform as well as its mobile device security and voice and message encryption solutions at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona in Hall 6, Stand 6J07.
